Sonam Kapoor, the fashion diva of B-Town is back in her glamourous avatar to set the silver screen on fire with her upcoming movies in the year 2014.
After the very stylish 'Aisha', Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor Films Company Pvt. Ltd. are back with a bang for round two with 'Khoobsurat'. Although, she failed to create any magic in 'Bewakoofiyaan', Sonam is back hopefully with a bang with her this movie.
A remake of Hrishkesh Mukherjee's 'Khubsoorat' starring Rekha and Rakesh Roshan, the new version is directed by Shashank Ghosh and produced by Sonam's sister Rhea and father Anil Kapoor along with UTV. New movie posters for `Khoobsurat` have been released. The remake of the Filmfare award winning film of the same name which back then starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan. Khoobsurat movie features a love story between a happy-go-lucky girl Dr. Milli Chakravarty and a no-nonsense Rajasthani Prince Vikram Rathore. The role of the prince is played by handsome Fawad Khan, who is more that suitable for it we feel. Fawad Khan gives a glimpse of Vikram Rathore’s character and says Vikram is an ambitious person who minds his own business. Vikram believes in a complete no-nonsense attitude and is definitely not those young-at-heart types. The movie also stars `Zindagi Gulzar Hai` actor Fawad Afzal Khan as Vikram Singh Rathor. The `Raanjhana` actress looks quirky yet chic in her modern day `misfits meets royals` role. It's no secret that Sonam Kapoor is reprising Rekha's part and now what can be called a casting coup of sorts, it is learnt that Ratna Pathak Shah will be reprising her late mother, Dina Pathak's role. Sonam and her Khoobsurat movie team had received immense support while shooting for their film in Bikaner from princess Siddhi Kumari. It is said that the princess and the royal family of Bikaner gave the 'Khoobsurat' team permission to shoot inside the palatial palace and also ensured that the cast and crew were well looked after during their stay in the city. Hence to return the favour Sonam hosted a gala bash when Princess Siddhi was in Mumbai on a professional commitment. Yes, it was very royal indeed. Khubsoorat remake is all set to take off its start in Rajasthan on November 10. The original Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed family drama had four principal characters.
When contacted,the diva said, “It was a private dinner and I do not wish to reveal any more details about it. Yes, there are fond memories of Bikaner since we spent a lot of time shooting there.” Looks like theKhoobsurat team had a blast shooting in the palatial palace.
