‘Khoobsurat’ is the re make of the film with the same title that had released in the year 1980. The film back then was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee which was supported by the dialogues of Gulzar. The film was a successful blockbuster and received countless praises from the audiences and critics. In 1991, the film wont the Filmfare Award for the Best Film while the lead actress Rekha bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Actress. Shashanka Ghosh can clearly be identified as a man with guts and knowledge as he tries to attempt to modernize and improvise on such a highly valued movie. Shashanka went after a star cast that was young and modern and decided to hand Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Afzal Khan as the lead roles for this project. In order for some on screen experience, veteran Kirron Kher has also been handed a supporting role in this film.

Sonam Kapoor came to the fest primarily to promote the film Khoobsurat. The movie came out with the trailer on July 21st and has since then many audiences eagerly awaiting its release. The film is directed by Shashaka Ghosh and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapoor. It is the remake of the 1980’s film with the same. Sonam is playing the lead role along side Fawad Afzal Khan and Kirron Kher.
